My work is a search for the balance between the trust for draftsmanship and the liberation of abstraction. The composite of the two methods often lends itself to a rupture - something that breaches or disturbs a harmonious feeling or situation. The ephemeral nature of any particular moment is translated into multilayered renderings that show the evidence of its journey through time and place. This allows the viewer to speculate or become curious about our relationship to our bodies, our memory, and our culture.
